How in the world do I find a photographer?
These winter months are the “off-season”, if there is such a thing, for photographers around the country right now. A lot of engagements happen, wedding planning takes place, and choices are made about what professionals you are going to give the responsibility of your wedding to. I thought it’d be a good time to run a blog series with a ton of information about wedding photography. After meeting with many brides and grooms before their wedding and talking about details, packages, albums, timelines, and all those things, I had the realization that this is everyone’s first time even though I’ve gone through the process hundreds of times.
What should I ask?
A lot of brides and grooms say the same basic thing: “We don’t know what we’re supposed to ask”. It’s difficult to get an answer or get information when you’re not even sure what you’re supposed to be getting an answer to! It’s time for some good old-fashioned education. What’s the deal with all this talk about copyrights? If one photographer is good and two is better, does that mean I should have three? Do I really need 15 hours of coverage time? How many photos should I expect to receive? There’s a lot to this crazy wedding process.
Here’s the deal
I want to make it easier for you. Each post will deal with one topic and one topic only. We’ll go step by step and hopefully cover just about everything there is to wedding photography. After we’re done, you will be able to make an informed and confident decision about who is going to document your wedding day. I’ll lay it out in the most unbiased way possible that a wedding photographer can give wedding photography advice. Let’s do this.
